Anne Hathaway is still receiving love from her fellow Hollywood colleagues for the way she handled her interview alongside Matt Lauer.
Anne Hathaway is not only an incredibly talented actress, but is also widely beloved by the public for her down-to-earth and charismatic personality.

Anne Hathaway has been professionally acting since the late 90s when she landed a role in the short-lived television series Get Real (1999-2000). After more than two decades in the business, it’s no surprise that the Les Misérables star has had her fair share of awkward interviews and encounters with the press.
For example, while promoting The Dark Knight Rises (2012), Anne Hathaway had an extremely uncomfortable interview with Extra where the interviewer kept pestering the actress with questions about how she had to prepare physically to play Catwoman in this film, despite Anne’s constant attempts to change the topic.
And two years later, Anne was subjected to plenty of backlash after she seemingly refused to shake hands with a journalist at the Los Angeles premiere of the sci-fi movie Interstellar (2014).
The actress’ team would later explain that Anne didn’t shake his hand because she was coming down with a cold at the time, but that didn’t stop the Argentinian journalist from putting her on blast all over social media.

One of the most uncomfortable interviews in Anne Hathaway’s career has to be, hands down, her awkward interview with Matt Lauer.
In 2012 Anne sat down with the then-host of the Today show to promote her latest film Les Misérables. However, the host seemed more interested in talking about and up-skirt photo of her that got taken by the paparazzi.
The journalist went as far as opening the interview with the words: “Nice to see you, seen a lot of you lately.”
However, Anne didn’t seem fazed by him awkward comments and, instead, gave s remarkably graceful response. “It was obviously an unfortunate incident,” she admitted.
“It kind of made me sad on two accounts. One was that I was very sad that when we live in an age where someone takes a picture of another person in a vulnerable moment, and rather than delete it and do the decent thing, sells it. And I’m sorry that we live in a culture that commodifies the sexuality of unwilling participants.”

Anne Hathaway’s graceful answer to Matt Lauer’s inappropriate comments during their 2012 interview went viral soon and still receive praise till this day.
Since the interview first came out, fans have been calling Anne Hathaway badass for how she handled Lauer’s comments.
Most recently, Mindy Kaling told People that she “fell in love” with Anne Hathaway after she saw how well her Ocean’s 8 co-star handled this awkward situation. The Office star even compared Lauer to “a lame uncle at Thanksgiving” for his comments and praised Anne for keeping her composure in such an uncomfortable interview.
Four years after that interview, NBC fired Matt Lauer due to a complaint of "inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace." Since then, fans have pointed out his interview with Anne Hathaway as a clear example of his inappropriate behavior at work.
