Eric Hathaway of Edgartown died on Jan. 28 at Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. He was 49.
He met Kimberly Ann Pontes of Fall River and they have been married since 2004. They have two daughters, Kylie Jeanne Hathaway and Jenna May Hathaway.
He graduated from Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School and then attended New England Tech. After graduation he began working at Bristol Tape in Fall River. He has been employed by the Edgartown water department for 22 years and leaves behind many coworkers and friends.
Eric was a proud father, husband, son and brother. He was a kind and respectful man. He was a hard worker. He also had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed his dogs Taz and Luigi, shellfishing, being out on the water, playing mechanic to cars and watching car shows.
He is survived by his mother, Patricia Lawrence; his wife Kimberly and their daughters Kylie and Jenna; his sister Lisa Moscato of New York; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father, John Hathaway.
Visitation with family and friends will be held at Chapman Funerals & Cremations in Oak Bluffs on Saturday, Feb. 4 from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. with a prayer service officiated by Father Paul Fedak at 12:45 p.m. A gathering at the P.A. Club in Oak Bluffs will follow; please bring a dish to share.
