Constance E. Chace, 97, of Somerset passed away peacefully on Friday, January 6, 2023 at the Fall River Health Care. She was the devoted wife to the late Gilbert Chace.
Born in Warren, RI, she was the daughter to the late Roger P. Chace and the late Bertha L. (Green) Chace. After graduating high school, she went on to work for Cherry and Webb until her children arrived, which became her full time job. Later she worked for a time at Christian Day School as a cook’s helper. She also helped her husband by doing the books for his repair station. Constance held a strong sense of faith and family, she was member of the Third Baptist Church in Fall River. For many years she volunteered her time in the church to help in various activities. She taught Sunday School for 60 years, she was a member of Seniors Group and a Pioneer Girls leader for too many years to count. At the church she always was there to help in many different types of functions. Constance adored her grandchildren. She was always there to help raise her grandchildren and very much enjoyed babysitting them. Her great grandchildren were no exception, she would be first to volunteer to help out or watch them. She even helped raise triplets when she was in her eighties. She enjoyed talking walks and trying new things even parasailing. Constance meant so much to so many she will be sorely missed.
