Born in Fogo, Cape Verde, she was the daughter of the late Francisco DaRosa and the late Luisa (Antunes) DaRosa. Isabel was raised in Cape Verde. She went on to marry Jose and she focused on raising her family and keeping a warm home for her family. In 1981 Isabel came to Boston, Massachusetts to live with her Daughter Fatima Gomes and late husband Jose “Djedje” Gomes to help raise their two children Daniel and Cindy Gomes.
Isabel loved to reminisce about spending her younger years swimming in the ocean and attending festivals in Sao Vicente. She enjoyed music, traveling, dancing, and sewing. She often made her own clothes and clothing for her children and grandchildren. She held a witty sense of humor and was always there to make you laugh when you needed to. She would always be there for her family to offer sound advice for anything you came to her about. Her love for her family made her the protector or the glue that would hold everyone together. She loved to talk with her family and friends from Cape Verde, America, and other parts. She would always want everyone to know what was happening with her and her family. She adored her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She took great pride in helping raise them.
