Judith Jackson, 84, passed away on December 30, 2022. Judith was born in Fall River and was the daughter of the late Oliver Jackson, Jr., and Grace (Myles) Jackson.
Judith was a graduate of Case High School in Swansea and Bridgewater state college where she earned her Masters in Health Science and went on to hold a long and rewarding career as a teacher with a primary focus on physical education. Judith was a longtime member of the Coles River Yacht Club where she was an avid Tennis player, holding the singles and mixed doubles champion title three years in a row. Judith also had a lifelong passion for sailing and held multiple awards and accolades for the sport. She was an active participant in a variety of sports related programs throughout her life and devoted much of her time and energy to the betterment of local youth sports. When she could, Judith enjoyed spending time in nature and tending to her garden. Judith will be remembered by those who knew her best as a talented, active and caring woman, who always kept a positive outlook on life.
Ms. Jackson was the sister of the late Oliver Jackson. She is survived by her many cousins, and a large extended family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 from 9-11am in the Hathaway Home for Funerals, 1813 Robeson St., Fall River. Prayers and words of remembrance will follow at 11am.
Burial to follow in the Assonet Burying Ground, Assonet, MA.
