Lois Grace (Howard) Tucker, 90, of Fairhaven passed away peacefully Friday, December 23, 2022 at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford. She was the loving wife of 69 years to Donald F. Tucker.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Robert and Grace (Edgar) Howard, she grew up in Mattapoisett and settled in Fairhaven in 1960 where she was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church. Lois was a graduate of Fairhaven High School and Kinyon Campbell Business School. She had worked at Hemingway Trucking, Liberty Mutual and later Saltmarsh Department Store until her retirement.
She is survived by her loving husband Donald; her four children, Ruth E. Comeau and her husband Patrick of Fairhaven, Francis J. Tucker and his wife LuAnn of Wareham, Howard S. Tucker and his wife Kami of Jamestown, NC and Thomas M. Tucker and his wife Caroline of Mattapoisett; 10 grandchildren; five great grandchildren with a sixth expected in April; a brother, Charles M. Howard of Bowie, MD; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Tucker was the sister of the late Robert Howard, Edna Williams, and infant Ruth Elizabeth.
Visitation will be Friday, December 30, 2022 from 9-10:30am in the Fairhaven Funeral Home, 117 Main St. Fairhaven followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in St. Mary’s Church, Fairhaven.
