FAIRHAVEN-Lucille A. (Payant) Breton, 90, of Fairhaven passed away peacefully at home Sunday, November 27, 2022. She was the loving wife of the late Donald H. Breton.
Born and raised in New Bedford, daughter of the late Armand and Valida (Alix) Payant, she lived in Acushnet prior to settling in Fairhaven in 1965. Lucille was a graduate of St. Anthony High School in New Bedford and a member of the Potter’s House and Chapel in Fairhaven. She had worked as an inspector at Aegis until her retirement in 1995. Lucille was an avid reader and enjoyed her garden.
She is survived by her children, Phyllis S. George and her husband Steve of Ann Arbor, MI, Andre Breton and his wife Nanette of Wareham and Dennis Breton and his wife Cathy of Lakeville, she was mother of the late Brian Breton; a sister, Rita Cardoza of Easton; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grand children; and many nieces and nephews. Lucille was the sister of the late Henry, Albert and Roger Payant, Madeline Rogissart, Yvette Toussaint, Andrea Roy, Roland Chagnon and Alice Gelinas.
In accordance with her wishes she will be cremated and a private family gathering will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by the Fairhaven Funeral Home, 117 Main St., Fairhaven. For memorial register please visit, www.hathawayfunerals.com.
