RAYNHAM-Robert E. Rodier, 78, passed away peacefully after a battle with cancer, surrounded by his family on November 27, 2022. He was the husband of the late Cecilia (Mendes) Rodier.
Bob was born in North Dighton and was the son of the late Richard Rodier and Phyllis (Johnson) Rodier.
Bob was employed for many years as an English/reading teacher beginning at Taunton High School and retired after 35 years at Whitman Hanson Regional High School in Hanson, MA where he served as a Department Head. Bob was an active man his entire life and enjoyed, walking, biking, and swimming. He was happiest when he was on the water on his boat or enjoying summers at the family cottage in Dennisport MA. He was a former member of the West Dennis Yacht Club where he served as Commodore in 2005. He also enjoyed vacationing at his Barefoot Bay home in Micco, FL. A man of few words, but a wealth of knowledge and information, Bob cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughter, Maria Rodier and her long time companion Frank Marshall of Taunton; siblings, Richard Rodier, Jr of Taunton and Deborah Brown and her husband Norman of Plymouth; grandchildren, Brianna, Troy and Tyler, many nieces and nephews and extended family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Thursday, December 1, 2022 from 4-7pm in the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave., Taunton.
His funeral will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022 at 10am from the funeral home with Mass of Christian Burial following at 11am in St. Ann Church, Raynham. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Taunton.
