Sharon (Georgi) Davis, 70, of Raynham, Massachusetts, with her loving and dedicated sons Andy and Rob by her side, died peacefully at home on Friday, January 27, 2023, following a long illness. Sharon was preceded in death by her spouse, Robert William Davis; her father, Henry Georgi; Stepfather David Ferrel, mother Mary Ferrel (Stone), and brother Henry Georgi Jr. (Skip).  Born August 30, 1952, in Manchester, New Hampshire, she grew up in Groton, Connecticut, graduated from the University of Connecticut, Storrs, with a bachelor’s degree in secondary English education, and was certified to teach grades 7-12.  She met the love of her life, Robert William Davis (Bob) at UCONN, and they were married May 21,1975, in Groton. In 2005, she earned her Master of Teaching English from Bridgewater State College.
Sharon was not only an amazing teacher, but she was also a lifelong student, striving to learn more to better serve her beloved students, earning additional credits in literature, writing and education. She began teaching freshman and sophomore academic English Language Arts (ELA) in 2000 at Bridgewater Raynham Regional High School (BR). Sharon was admired and loved by her students, with her twenty-year career at BR recognized and honored with the dedication of the 2022 yearbook to “Mrs. Davis, who is known for caring deeply about her students, not just the grade, but the person, addressing their social and emotional well-being too.  She not only teaches English, but kindness, empathy, respect, and love.  Mrs. Davis is the heart of the English Department; at meetings her concern is how any change or initiative will affect ‘her kids.’  She always has a kind word, a card and gift for a special event, condolences, and trays of Christmas cookies the week before break.”  A longtime resident of Raynham, Sharon was very active in her community. She was a member, volunteer, and Deacon at the First Congregational Church, embodying their Christian mission of worship, nurturing in faith, and ministering to others.  Another special joy to Sharon was her time as librarian in the Children’s Room of the Middleborough Public Library, especially setting up displays for the children.
Sharon is survived by her two sons, Robert William Davis, Jr., Sacramento, CA and Andrew Thomas Davis, Raynham, MA; stepbrothers Donald Ferrel and Stephen Ferrel; and Aunt Carol Simpson, Medfield, MA.
