Somerset, MA – Shirley Janson-Farias, 92, passed away peacefully at what became to be her second home at the Memory Care Facility at the Arbors of Taunton, MA on Saturday, December 17, 2022.  She was the loving wife of the late George Dewey Janson and the late Paul Farias. 
Shirley was the daughter of the late Gertrude Lake (Scanlon) and Abner Lake.  She was the youngest of a very large family of twelve and was the last remaining family member of the famous Lake Girls.  Her deceased siblings were James, John, Mildred, Myra, Gertrude, Elizabeth, Rose, Margaret, Angela, Dorothy, and Agnes.   
Shirley lived a full life and had a strong catholic faith.  Surviving her are daughters Robin Janson-Dumais and Geralyn (Janson) Fortin, son-in-laws, Peter Dumais, and the late Robert Fortin. She was blessed with four grandchildren, Brittany Pearo, Lyndsey Stiegler, Chelsea Caudill, and Kaitlyn Fortin, as well as two great grandchildren, Eleanor Janson Pearo and Peter Brooks Caudill. 
The family wishes to acknowledge the kind and devoted staff at the Arbors of Taunton and the incredible staff of Compassionate Care Hospice of Taunton. Please consider a contribution in Shirley’s memory to Compassionate Care Hospice of Taunton. Further, the family would like to thank Shirley's private care nurse Isabelle Narcissi who was a true angel to Shirley.
Her private funeral arrangements are under the care of Hathaway Community Home for Funerals 900 Buffinton St., Somerset. A celebration of life for Shirley will take place in June of 2023 which was Shirley’s favorite month of the year, and time when she married her two loving husbands and the beginning of her favorite season.
