TAUNTON- Sandra E. Offley, 81, passed away on January 7, 2023 at Morton Hospital. Sandra was born in Taunton and was the daughter of the late Anthony Fernandes and Marion (Perry) Fernandes.
Sandra attended Taunton High School and held a long and rewarding career as a Mental Health Worker at the Taunton State Hospital. Sandra enjoyed trips to the casino, scratch tickets and was always seen walking around the city. Above all else, Sandra was devoted to caring for her children, grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Nana Sandra’s “do as you want” daycare was always open and ready to receive her family with open arms. Sandra will be remembered fondly as an independent woman who always made sure her family was well taken care of. Small in stature, but fiery and loyal, Sandra will never be forgotten by her family and lifelong friend Dominga Pina.
Sandra is survived by her children, Anthony Offley of FL, Keith Offley and his wife Michelle of Somerset and Heidi Offley of Taunton; siblings, Arthur “Brother” Fernandes and his wife Cathy of CO, Sr. Joanna Fernandes of Rome, Anthony “Chico” Fernandes and his companion Mary of Taunton, Susan Fernandes of West Bridgewater, Shirley Guillemette of Taunton and sister in law Diane Fernandes of Taunton; grandchildren, Anthony Jr. “TJ”, Jose, Derrick, Jessica, Taylor, McKenzie and Perry “Pooh “; great grandson, Jaxon and many nieces and nephews. Sandra is also survived by her longtime companion Gilbert Roderick.
She was the sister of the late Richard, Steven and Alyce Fernandes, Margaret and husband Jerome “Jerry” Evans, and Carol Jean and husband Richard Davidson.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Thursday, January 12, 2023 from 4-7pm in the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave., Taunton.Prayers will begin at 6:30pm
