It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Sharon Diana Sylvia into the spirit world on Wednesday, December 28, 2022.
Sharon was the only child of Maurice R. Sylvia and Irene K. (Sylvia) Pimental. She was a native of Fairhaven, Massachusetts, and grew up attending Fairhaven schools. In adulthood, Sharon graduated from Southeastern Massachusetts University in 1979 with a bachelor’s degree in nursing.
Sharon’s nursing career spanned 35 years and was strictly hospital-based, consisting of cardiac, acute medical and coronary care, and cardiac rehabilitation. She was an ardent supporter of all forms of cardiovascular fitness and spent her adult life practicing this lifestyle. Sharon’s other obsessions included interior design, vehicular maintenance, and deeds of kindness (she was ever focused on her fellow mankind and God’s innocent animals).
Sharon is predeceased by her son, Ronald R. Lomba, Jr., her son-in-law, Eric T. Smith, and her beloved grand-dog, Maximus Watson. She is survived by her son, Charles A. B. Sylvia, and his partner, Michael A. Power, of Warren, Rhode Island; her daughter, Katie H. Pimentel, and grandson, Joseph F. Pimentel, of Fairhaven, Massachusetts; and her grandson, Jahi T. Lomba, and his partner, Angeline Cayanan, of Tarzana, California.
Arrangements for a celebration of Sharon’s life will be forwarded to loved ones at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please honor Sharon’s life with a donation to the non-profit Greenlock Therapeutic Riding Center at 59 Summer Street, Rehoboth, MA 02769 or at www.greenlock.org.
